| Trail Markers |
IntroductionThe Appalachian Trail is a continuous marked footpath that goes from Mt. Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia, a distance of about 2160 miles. Hiking the length of the trail takes commitment, planning, and following the markers. The trail is crisscrossed by a multitude of side trails. Without the markers, a hiker would soon be confused and possibly way off course.Jesus said, “Follow me!” The series “Trail Markers” identifies six markers along the way that help us know that we are the right path. Following Jesus depends upon doing the things that help keep us growing, recognizing the work of the Spirit in our lives. The people of Israel had the fire by night and the glory cloud by day as they journeyed through the wilderness on the way to Canaan. God taught them to worship and then sent them on a journey to fulfill His promises to them. For five weeks this fall we will be learning to recognize the markers of the Holy Spirit’s activity that will guide through the “wilderness” and on to our own “promised land.” SermonsTrail Markers: Significant Moments Along the Journey (Pastor Bruce Garner)Trail Markers: I Pray (Pastor Ben Markham) Trail Markers: I Seek (Pastor Bruce Garner) Trail Markers: I Inspire (Pastor Bruce Garner) Trail Markers: I Share (Pastor Bruce Garner) Trail Markers: I Reach & I Give (Pastor Bruce Garner) Trail Markers: I Worship (Peggy Norton) |
